Choose between refining the current draft and starting over.

Before you begin
- Existing steps and updated, ready sources.

Preserve the version you need

Export a .stepgen package or duplicate the project before a major revision.

Update or add the source material and wait for processing to finish.
- 3
Add a text note explaining what changed and which source revision governs.
- 4
Open Sources and choose Re-Generate.
Choose the correct regeneration mode
| Option | What it does | When it helps |

| Update Existing Steps | Uses your current steps as a base and refines them with the latest sources. | You added a source, clarified a requirement, or need a controlled revision. |
| Start Fresh | Deletes the existing steps and generates a new set. | The old structure is no longer appropriate and you want a new draft. |
Both choices may significantly change the current instruction. Update Existing Steps is not a promise to preserve every sentence, field, or attachment.
Clarify and review the result

Complete the clarification stage with the updated requirements.

Let the generation finish; reopen the progress window if you closed it.

Compare the revised steps with the new sources and your retained copy.
- 4
Review media and fields, confirm saving, and create a new export if needed.
Replace the delivered version deliberately
Previously downloaded documents and packages do not update themselves. Distribute a new export when the reviewed instruction changes.
If readers use a share link, review the current shared view and its expiry. Communicate your own revision and approval process outside the AI draft workflow.
