Prepare your sources
Add the knowledge your files do not contain
Capture requirements, context, and exceptions as editable source notes.
What you’ll achieve
Your team’s unwritten knowledge is available when steps are generated.
Before you begin
- An open project.
On this page
Add a text note
- 1
In Sources, choose Text Notes.
- 2
Enter a specific Notes title, such as “Final inspection acceptance criteria.”
- 3
Enter the actual process facts in Notes content. Include units, conditions, and exceptions where known.
- 4
Choose Add to Sources. Confirm that the note appears with Ready status.
Write notes the AI can act on
Weak: “Make sure everything is correct.” Useful: “Before the training session, confirm that sample blocks A, B, and C are present. Record the kit identifier. If a block is missing, stop preparation and ask the trainer for a complete kit.”
Use one topic per note when practical. This makes later correction and review easier, particularly when multiple people supply context.
Update the content, not just the description
- 1
Find the note in the source list and choose Edit text notes.
- 2
Correct its title or content and choose Save Notes.
- 3
Review the existing steps. Editing a source note does not automatically rewrite an already-generated instruction; use Re-Generate when the changes should flow into the draft.
Edit description changes the source summary. Use Edit text notes when the facts supplied to generation need to change.
Keep facts and preferences distinct
Use notes for process knowledge. Use Special Instructions for preferences such as “write for new technicians” or “use short numbered actions.”
When you do not know a value, identify it as unresolved and obtain it from the responsible person. Do not enter a guessed value simply to complete the source.
